The Innovation Hive team continues to make significant progress within Work Package 1 (WP1) at the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy in Belgrade, which focuses on mapping and assessing oil-containing waste relevant to our project. As part of Deliverable D1.1, they are collecting detailed technical and market data on by-products from the agricultural and food industries. This information is being integrated into a structured database, which will enable systematic comparison of potential raw materials and help identify those with the highest valorization potential.
The raw materials under investigation include waste from industrial sunflower oil processing, various oil-rich cakes such as soy, sunflower, and pumpkin, as well as residues from stone fruit seeds like plum, peach, and apricot. To complement this analysis, they are also conducting an in-depth market review of the Serbian food sector. This includes assessing availability, quantities, and processing methods of these residues, providing a clearer picture of both the resource landscape and existing industrial practices.
