The second edition of the VerdeDrive newsletter highlights a busy and productive period for the project — spanning international events, fresh research results, and growing collaboration across borders.
UniWA and Fırat University completed another successful mobility exchange, sharing laboratory practices and innovations in biofuel research, strengthening the scientific ties at the heart of the consortium.
At the "Innovation, Materials & Sustainability" workshop, project coordinator Ioannis Sarris presented VerdeDrive's latest progress in green technologies and knowledge transfer between academia and industry.
In Patras, Greece, VerdeDrive was showcased at the Multifunctional Agriculture Seminar alongside the MY FARM project — a sign of how the project's research connects to broader sustainable agriculture goals.
On the research front, Innovation Hive is making solid progress in Work Package 1 at the University of Belgrade, collecting technical and market data on agricultural and food-industry byproducts as part of Deliverable D1.1.
Finally, a study presented at SSCHE 2025 in Slovakia demonstrated the efficient extraction of oil from waste cherry pits — a promising raw material for second-generation biodiesel and a perfect example of the circular economy thinking that drives VerdeDrive forward.
